LFP Camp is on a sliding scale, and we asked what you could pay in your RSVP form. The general fee for those who can afford it is $250. You can make your payment to camp via Zelle, Venmo, Cashapp, credit card, or check. Contact Alison to arrange your payment method.

Taxis and rideshares should also take you directly to this point. Don't get dropped off at the main entrance because it is quite a walk to the Labadorf building.

If you are taking a flight, you should plan to arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport. Train travelers should arrive at Newark Penn Station. We have arranged shuttle buses to go from EWR and Penn Station to camp.

The shuttle bus will pick up at Terminal A passenger pickup (there should be an area for bus pickup). Alison will be in touch with the driver directly on Friday.

Venue and accommodations[edit]

Hands in 4 Youth Camp, West Milford NJ.

We will be staying in camp cabins, which are pretty spare. Most of the rooms are shared; we may be able to accommodate a few people who want a solo room, but not many. Those who wish to pitch tents are welcome to; please contact Alison if you want to pitch a tent.

The camp provides pillows, sheets, and blankets, but you should also bring your own more comfortable ones if you want.

You must bring your own towels and toiletries!

Cabins and dorms have power outlets.

If you are pitching a tent, you will set up near the Labadorf building, which is also where we will eat and where half of our group will sleep.

If driving into camp, you will park in the Labadorf lot which also has a ramp for accessibility.

Accessibility info[edit]

Our main spaces will be Labadorf and the Nature Lodge. These buildings are immediately adjacent to each other and require just a very short walk to get from one to the other. They each have some steps to get into the buildings. Restrooms are inside of the Labadorf building.

We will also be using the second floor of Labadorf for some activities, which is up a typical flight of steps.

The Franklin building is where some of our participants will stay, and that is about a 5 minute walk from Labadorf.

The main parking lot is next to the Labadorf building and the parking lot has a ramp.

Food[edit]

The camp will be providing all of our meals. Please make sure we are aware of your dietary needs well in advance! The camp can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, vegan and gluten-free, and more.

Our accommodations include kitchens in each building, so we will have plenty of space to bring our own snacks and drinks.

We are planning for the camp will serve us lunch and dinner on Friday, all meals on Saturday and Sunday, and breakfast on Monday.

Covid protocols[edit]

We will be asking all campers to show a negative covid rapid test upon arrival to camp or prior to arriving. We will also have many additional tests (as well as masks) available at the camp. Most of our time at camp will be spent outside, other than indoor activities like eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom. We encourage all campers to mask indoors when possible. Many of the camp activities outside will take place in an open-air stadium-style seating space, and the rest will be in open outdoor camp in different areas.

At our last camp, we used a red/yellow/green stickering system on nametags to indicate covid caution levels. We plan to use this again, likely defined as follows:

  • Red sticker: please mask around me at all times
  • Yellow sticker: please mask around me indoors
  • Green sticker: masking according to others' needs
