There aren't a lot of lunch options immediately next to the Friends Center, so we've allotted 90 minutes both days for you to get lunch. Here are some options:
 +
* Reading Terminal Market, 0.4 miles, 9 min walk. Lots and lots of options here, though it gets crowded and seating becomes scarce. Alison's faves are Herschel's Deli (turkey rachel), El Merkury (bean and cheese pupusas), Miller's Twist (breakfast pretzel and a lemonade), DiNic's (roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and provolone, better than a cheesesteak imo), Tambayan (Filipinx place, lots of good options), Little Thai (lots of good options), Deiner's BBQ Chicken, and vegans might like Luhv's Vegan Deli.
 +
* La Colombe Coffee, 0.3 miles, 7 min. Not actually lunch, coffee and pastries, but it's the closest good coffee.
 +
* Waterfront Gourmet, 0.3 miles, 7 min. Immediately next door to La Colombe, has decent sandwiches and really good smoothies
 +
* Sabrina's Cafe, 0.5 miles, 12 min walk. A bit further afield, but a sit-down place. Gets busy at brunch times, but probably fine for lunch unless you have a big group.
 +
* Chinatown, 0.5 miles, 12 min walk. Also a bit further, but many options. Alison's picks are Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House, Spice-C, Penang, or Vietnam restaurant. There's also a million bubble tea places.

Transit from airport[edit]

There is an easy and convenient airport train that runs every 30 minutes. It will take you very close to the hotel and venue.

Venue[edit]

Friends Center, MLK Room, 1501 Cherry Street, Philadelphia PA

Hotel[edit]

Best Western Plus Philadelphia Convention Center, 1225 Vine Street

Lunch options near the venue[edit]

There aren't a lot of lunch options immediately next to the Friends Center, so we've allotted 90 minutes both days for you to get lunch. Here are some options:

  • Reading Terminal Market, 0.4 miles, 9 min walk.
  • La Colombe Coffee, 0.3 miles, 7 min. Not actually lunch, coffee and pastries, but it's the closest good coffee.
  • Waterfront Gourmet, 0.3 miles, 7 min. Immediately next door to La Colombe, has decent sandwiches and really good smoothies
  • Sabrina's Cafe, 0.5 miles, 12 min walk. A bit further afield, but a sit-down place. Gets busy at brunch times, but probably fine for lunch unless you have a big group.
  • Chinatown, 0.5 miles, 12 min walk. Also a bit further, but many options. Alison's picks are Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House, Spice-C, Penang, or Vietnam restaurant. There's also a million bubble tea places.
Group dinner[edit]

Dim Sum Garden, 1020 Race Street. 0.5 miles from the Friends Center, 0.3 miles from the hotel.
