Week 7: Academic surveillance and student privacy[edit]

Overview[edit]

The pandemic forced students much more online, and school administrators have demanded greater productivity in these online environments. Surveillance is built into these online learning platforms, tracking what students click on, how much time they spent on each page, and how attentive they are to the screen. This week, we're focused on the new academic surveillance norms and what this means for students both K-12 and at the college level. We'll also talk about bringing privacy into information literacy environments in academic settings.
