More stuff to think about

  • We need the agenda shared in an offline way during the meeting, but we also need the ability to edit it as we go

Things that we should consider putting on our agenda at camp

  • Idea; Name
  • Op-Ed Writing Workshop (preferably by a facilitator which addresses how to construct an Op-Ed piece; how to craft a pitch to get the attention of press for publication; how to deconstruct & confront arguments from opposing side in order to strengthen your persuasive piece); Andrea Puglisi
  • What's New in Health Privacy; Tess Wilson (+ others!)
  • Some sort of overview about privacy laws and how to find them both federal/state?; Alex Bernson
  • Would love to do some kind of critical technology/data studies chat (Callan)
  • Dealing with book challenges, anti-maskers, 1A auditors, and other reactionaries in the library; Alison + others
  • Zine Making; Ayoola and Lena
  • Roadmap/action items at the end of the weekend; Alison
  • Applying to the next IMLS round; Alison
  • Advocacy priorities & materials for distribution to professional organizations (ALA/PLA/state & regional associations/multi-type library cooperatives) and events
  • Examples/ templates for hosting privacy/security public facing
  • How to tie in to other library programming adjunct to LFP initiatives/privacy/security- maybe Computer Literacy, Health Literacy, Media Literacy, Financial Literacy
  • Teen Meme Project exhibit; Maty
  • How to run a meeting, building community agreements and consensus
  • More advocacy/organizer-y topics
  • Burnout/vocational awe/choosing your battles
  • New IMLS grant (if we get it) and planning for regional work
  • External speaker on Saturday?
  • Lots of unconference time
  • Skillsharing time
  • Outreach in practice
  • Chat/brainstorm/network around other advocacy and activist groups within the library world
  • Healing session of some kind
  • Could agenda items follow a similar theme like professional advocacy one day and have the other be focused specifically all LFP related items
  • Children's/youth/teen services ideas?
  • Memorial for Michelle and Latanya
  • Repro justice and digital security
  • something high level connecting current political issues with surveillance
